- Pre-roll recording — a few seconds before the trigger, so you see what led up to it
- Local storage option — cloud subscriptions add up fast

Doorbell cloud plans typically run $3–$10 per month. Over three years that is $108–$360, often more than the hardware. Before buying, check:
- Does it record at all without a subscription?
- Is there local storage (microSD, base station, or NAS)?
